imminent |ˈimənənt|
adjective
1 about to happen.
2 (archaic) overhanging.

Muse: The sensation of the imminent was clearly demonstrated in the end sequence of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. The arrival of the EVA pod in the staged hotel suite marked by the resolute black monolith, juxtaposed frontally next to the master bedroom bed with Bowman lying on the central axis marks an uncanny intrusion into the script.  A necessary Deus ex machina, the monolith brings with it the inexplicable; a time and space narrative of infinite duration compressed into a few fleeting juxtapositions.

Description: Two symmetrical columnar elements evoke a portal establishing a frontal orientation against the north glass wall of the gallery. Solid rubber cord, initially ordered and ruled, emerge from two strategically cut holes in the ceiling fraying and dropping loose bundles of tentacles from a plenum space within the ceiling. Within the confines of the gallery, Dionysian chaos, channeled through the initiative of feral geometry produces an uneasy zoomorphic presence. The tendrils run across the floor of the gallery occupying and scoring the ground plane
